NOTICE OF AGM (Annual General Meeting)

The Green Hut Community Centre, Beckwith Avenue

The Annual General Meeting for 2019 will take place on Thursday, January 24th at the Green Hut Community Centre on Beckwith Avenue, near to the club. We encourage all members to come along and contribute to the welfare of your club and to vote on important issues.

HDTL Autumn Cup

HDTL has announced an Autumn Cup knockout tournament, which will begin on Monday 10th September. Harlow Tennis Club has entered a team, therefore we are looking for players who currently play in the Restricted leagues,or play at that level.

We need a pair of men and a pair of ladies for each match, which consists of men's doubles, ladies doubles and mixed doubles. Our first match will be on Thursday, September 13th at 6:30, against Mashamshire and will be a home match. This is a home match and courts 1,2 & 4 have been booked.

Autumn Men's Doubles

Birstwith have organised a small men's league, which will play on Sunday mornings, between 16th September and the end of October.

Harlow has entered a team, so if you are interested in playing please contact Graham Mather on 07747 454341 or on matherg@uk2.net with your availability over those weeks.

As I write this newsletter, the sun is shining and it's a glorious afternoon. Pity I've no-one to go and have a hit with today.
Membership Subscriptions
April has been very busy with processing memberships. Many people still prefer to pay by cheque, however it is much simpler and quicker for us to process electronic payments. If you haven't paid electronically before,  maybe you could consider it for next season . The discount period has ended and we are now in "high" season. Subscription costs are posted in the club house and are available on the web site, if anyone asks.

New Committee Members
The Committee is delighted to welcome Karen Kettlewell and Lucy Clarkson as new members. It's  great to have some new blood. If interested in joining them, we'd be equally delighted to 

Court Bookings
In order to book a court, you must register with our ClubSpark booking system. You will have received an invitation via email, which will lead you to the site. If you have any problems logging on and/or using the system, please get in touch. Other than putting your name down for special events, such as Wednesday American tournaments, all bookings should be made through ClubSpark

MAY 2018
15 May - The Wednesday American tournaments have started again. Why not come and join us on wednesdays @ 7.30pm for some mixed doubles fun - we have places available for men and women - just sign up in the clubhouse. It's not really a tournament - just mixed doubles swapping around every eight games.

Are you interested in playing competitive tennis?

if so, and would like to be considered for a place in one of our teams, please come along to one, or more, of our match practice sessions, taking place Monday and Thursday evenings in April (except Easter Monday).

All sessions run from 6:30 to 9:00 pm and are open to all adult members. Juniors may be considered, depending on age and ability.

We have three mixed doubles teams, one ladies and one men's team. Mixed doubles are played mid-week evenings, ladies on Saturday afternoons and men's on Sunday mornings.

If you can't make it to any of the sessions but, are interested, please email us.

NB: ONLY paid-up members are eligible to play in matches.

We hope you enjoy looking around the website for Harlow Tennis Club in Harrogate. Harlow is a thriving, friendly club with nearly 200 members.  

We aim to provide tennis for all at an affordable price whilst offering excellent facilities with 3 high quality floodlit courts. In 2018, we have three teams in the Harrogate & District Mixed Tennis League, a Men's team in Tyke Petroleum Men's Tennis League and a Ladies’ team in the Yorkshire League. It's not just about teams - if you just want social tennis then Harlow is also the ideal club for you and your family.  We also have a very busy junior section including tennis coaching.

The club always try to keep subscriptions at an affordable level but high enough to maintain and improve the club's facilities. We believe we are one of the cheapest in the area for the facilities we have.
